Relocating?

If you're relocating to the Portland/Metro area, chances are you'll be looking for a home priced below market value, close to amenities that match your family's lifestyle. Portland's suburbs can vary in school performance, property tax assessments and transportation. Be sure you're working with a realtor® who can read between the lines and offer you candid advice and direction. Have you considered:

  • What do the local schools offer in academics, athletics and other extra-curricular activities?
  • Are there any political issues - such as annexations, bond measures or local taxes being considered?
  • What is a short sale, and should I consider one?
  • How will the expansion of light rail through the east side affect values and livability?
  • How far is a certain neighborhood from downtown, the beach and the mountains?

I offer relocation clients:

  • Digital Accessibility: I answer e-mail immediately and thoroughly. If you need a school report, property details, CC&R's, driving distance to work or recreation - I do the legwork and get back to you right away. If you read or heard something about a neighborhood and want more clarification or information - call or e-mail me for a candid discussion. I am always available.
  • Preview services: When you're out-of-town, you often rely on a few grainy photos and truncated descriptions to determine what you would like to see. I can take the guesswork out of the process by previewing homes when necessary - making a site visit and photographing the property with a wide-angle lens to give you greater perspective into not only the good - but the bad that the listing agent may not want you to see. I post these photos to your own private directory on my web server and provide a narrative to walk you through the home.
  • New construction expertise: There are dozens of developers in the area; Arbor Homes, Pacific Lifestyle, Timberline, DR Horton and more. Many of these homes are not even listed in the RMLS. I know the best developments and understand each's reputation for quality and value. In this crazy market - it pays to understand which developers are in trouble and why. Many offer great buying opportunity - others offer good reasons to look elsewhere.
  • No hassle research: Educating yourself on the lifestyle your family can expect is an important part of the job hunt. I am happy to work with you prior to a decision to move - to help you make that decision more confidently.

Hopefully I've given you some compelling reasons to call or e-mail me about your relocation. Please feel free to browse anonymously using my listing search, or contact me to find something you may not have considered. Either way, please bookmark this page, and come back often. I look forward to working with you!

It's time to think about real estate again. Inventory numbers have more-or-less stabalized, and now is the perfect time for a first or second-time home buyer to make a move.

First time buyers: There has never been a better time to buy. With extra loans masquerading as tax credits, amazing benefits offered by builders in new construction and terrific price points market-wide - now is the time to get a rock-bottom price while interest rates are still low.

If you're currently living in your first home: Have you considered taking advantage of the awesome buying opportunties in the metro area and renting your current house to upgrade your lifestyle? This is a great way to move forward with a stable, income-generating investment for your family along with a gain you can immediately enjoy - a new home.
